Robot Starter Kit track issue

#1

Hello,

I assembled the starter robot kit as in the instructions, and put together the tracks with 20 pieces per track.
When I put them on, they looked quite saggy, like kind of long for the size of the track, so I removed 1 piece, and I got 19 pieces per track, and t is still loose, but works quite nice.

Does anyone has any experience with those tracks? I am wondering if I did something wrong mounting the blocks, or maybe 1 piece was put extra as spare. (well all the documentation says its 20 pieces per track but)

I wanted to add pictures so you can see the montage, but appearently new users can not upload pictures. (sigh)

Any ideas/help/recommendation greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
C.A.

19 sounds about right. I’ll have to count mine. They are a bit saggy, but they do work

I seem to remember 19 segments on mine as well. My ultimate kit came with at least half a dozen ‘extra’ segments; there are actually other track layouts you can assemble including a triangular track, which is why there are extras…you’re not limited to building what the instructions suggest.

Hello,

Yes 19 is fine. I got this question: what are the tradeoffs between a saggy track and a tensioned track, as regards to driving, motion, etc.

Also since I am new user I can not post pictures, how can we resolve that?

Best regards,
C.B.

Hello

I have upgraded your ID as basic user, please try it!

Thanks

Saggy tracks will probably be better at climbing over weird obstacles than very tight tracks, which will probably be a bit faster on level flat terrain.
