MegaPi Board not all motors running

I have a MegaPi board running 4 DC motors with Makeblock Mecanum wheels controlled via the bluetooth controller. Everything run well. But I wanted to add an arm. That is one more DC motor and a Gripper, After coding everything only the gripper moves. The wheel do not turn and the DC motor does not move either. Is there any out there had similar issues? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hey @Gtt115, The MegaPi might be driving too many motors. I don’t really know about the MegaPi very well, so @Best_codes, do you have anything?

  • What changes did you make in the code?
  • Did you change the wiring of the motors at all, besides adding the gripper and new motor?

@Rosco - You are correct! The MegaPi board does get overloaded and runs out of power very easily.

Would you expect this problem to occur when all the motors are turning and not necessarily because there connected. I understand how their use could drain the batteries quickly.

Yeah, probably.

@Gtt115 are you trying to run all the motors at once? Also, your gripper is designed to work with the MegaPi, right?
