mBot Talkative Pet Addon - Robot Dog No Sound

I have the talkative pet addon for mBot and have the same problem as described in another (locked) post:

Hello, I bought the talkative pet module for my mbot and want to test it. For this I build up the dog robot and loaded the example program. After uploading it to the mbot, there is much action on the robot, but no sound. I use the delivered battery holder with a freshly loaded 18650. Following things I have tested now: creating a own program with initialization, volume setting to 100 and playing a sound -> no success connecting the module (without any connection to the RJ45) to USB on my com…

The dog program seems to upload fine, the tail wags and the wheels move back and forth but the audio player doesn’t work. I verified the SD card has the correct files, and tested the audio player with a separate small program. The dog program is also supposed to use the ultrasonic and light sensors but both appear to be unresponsive.

I have tried using the test case programs available from both of these links:

I tried both Mblock 3 and Mblock 5 for PC.
