Line following from app

I just want some clarification on the line following program from the app. I have the ultimate 2.0 with the line following shield installed to port 6. I have it running of the IDE perfectly. I have tried with both the android and iPad app and can’t get it to work at all. In reading out topics a lot of people have had some issues and want to know if anyone has got the line following working from the app

The line follower function cannot perform well on app in online mode, instead, we have to upload the program with PC.
