How to troubleshoot connectivity issues with mBot Ranger?

#1

Hello guys!

I am having some issues with my mBot Ranger and was hoping someone here might assist. I have used it for a couple projects but I’ve recently run into chronic connectivity difficulties that I can’t seem to fix.

Here is what’s going on: when I try to connect the mBot Ranger to the mBlock software via Bluetooth, the connection is either extremely unstable or does not establish at all. I restarted both the robot and my PC, and I reinstalled the mBlock program, but the problem persisted.

I am using a Windows 10 PC and have updated all required drivers and software to the most recent versions. I also examined my computer’s Bluetooth settings to make sure there were no conflicts or concerns.

I also check this: https://forum.makeblock.com/t/mbot-ranger-is-not-connecting-with-the-phonservicenow But I have not found any solution. Could anyone suggest the best idea for this? Has anyone else have similar problems? If yes, how did you get them resolved? Are there any particular troubleshooting steps I may be missing? I am curious if there are any typical solutions for Bluetooth communication troubles with the mBot Ranger.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @mariyaanass!

Can you try connecting manually using the USB cable and see if it is stable? This will let us know if the problem is physical or in the software / electronics.

You can also see if you have the same problem with both online versions here:

Thanks!

Hi Maria @mariyaanass

You will have Bluetooth connectivity problems on a Windows PC if any other USB devices are connected to it - e.g. a printer. Turn anything like this off and then restart mBlock & retry the Bluetooth connection.
