XY Plotter Assembly Problem

#1

Hi People,

I was trying to assemble the XY Plotter v2.0 as described in its Assembly Instruction.

The Problem is these two nuts which are closer to the “Linear Motion Slide Unit”, they can’t get tighten as illustrated on 20-th page on Instruction pdf. Because, there is not enough distance between LMS unit and screw, where nuts can fit. May be LMS units are a bit wider than the regular onces or i did another mistake. I just temporarely mounted them into other 2 holes(where pen holder to be mounted).

Used Longer screws with plastic rings.

And here is the final picture of mechanical part of this section.

Where did I made the mistake? Some guesses?

Hi electrogenius,

From the picture, the uper two screw are both ok and there is enough distace for the nuts. How can the below two screws shorter? Do you use the same kind (the length) of the screws?

Besides, the instruction you are using should be a little old, it is better to refer to the latest instruction from our official website:http://learn.makeblock.com/en/xy-plotter-robot-kit/

i got my Dremel and ground down 1 side of each nut so they were flat…there’s no other way…the instructions are very poor

Hi, There is difference between the guide inside All in One package(BTW this is from your “offical site” and I came here from the QR code you put inside the box and outside of the box) and the guide on the web page. One is with 4 screws the other one 2 screws. I used old one, which is inside All in One package. But Ok! You now about issue, but you don’t want to express, you fixed it and you don’t want to discuss anymore why and how… This is like you are saying “you are responsible of your mistakes, but we are not responsible from anything you should know and compare them before start.” That’s enough for me. Thank you!

The MakeBlock documentation is very very confusing, the only positive is that it makes us learn patience, persistence and enginuity.

There was one zip file of instrcutctions called “…latest.zip”. What would they call the next one? “…latest_latest.zip”.

I discovered a new feature  If you want to disable Y-max limit switch just mount the laser. It will be disabled automatically  Be carefully and keep your finger on on/off switch! for emergency power down.
