Wrong connection on the mBot v 1.1. USB to RJ25 Port

#1

Hello,

I have a situation, a student made a mistake and connected the USB Type-B connector to an RJ25 Port and the mBot turned off. I tried to turn it on again but it didn’t, so I unplugged the battery, plugged it back in and the mBot turned on and worked. However, I’m wondering if this could have caused some damage to the mCore? Is the mBot protected to this kind of accidents?

The mBot indicated is V 1.1. 2.4 G Educational Robot

Thanks.

CCing @tec_support on this one although they’re on national holiday right now.

If the robot appears to work, then there was likely no damage. The result of that action is to short all of the pins in the RJ25 jack so that may produce some unpredictable error at the time. However, if you didn’t smell any “magic smoke*” then the mBot is probably okay.
