Win10 not recognizing the mBot (Code 43)

#1

Hello

I’m have two mbots and they are working fine until today. One mBot is not connecting anymore through the usb port with the mBlock. Windows 10 is giving an error (43):
“A request for the USB device descriptor failed.”

This error occurs also on another computer and not with my second mBot.

Hopefully there is a solution.

Something changed. Check your settings in the control panel- if nothing’s there, come back to us.

#3

Which specific settings in the control panel do I have to check?
I don’t think anything has changed.

#4

I don’t use Windows much anymore so I couldn’t tell you specifically, but check connections and external devices

Thanks for the tips but I believe it has nothing to do with the connections. I think it’s a problem with de mCore because my other mBot is working just fine.

#6

If one mbot works fine and the other does not the mbot board may have gone bad. I have had that problem with regular Arduino’s one works and the other does not and the mbot board is just a specialized Arduino.

#7

I’m afraid that Yes, I think that this is indeed the problem.
Thanks for alle the replies.

I sounds like Windows has forgotten the USB setup for that USB connector.

Use the Control panel -> System -> Devices -> USB controllers to see if anything strange is there.

I’ve translated from the Italian, and beyond this I’m no expert!

Dear Sir…

I have same problem too, I connect another UNO and Win10 control panel -> Devices manager will show (COM & LPT) found Arduino Uno (COM3), but connect to mBot it’s nothing happen !! and I can’t setup the com port in Arduino IDE also.
Should I download or upgrade anything ??

Yes, windows doesn’t recognize the mBot. I’m afraid that the mCore is bad as wildwingman mentioned.
