What is with the Panda?

#1

I just started using mBlock and I’m not sure I understand what the Panda is for. It doesn’t seem to do anything.

The panda is part of the scratch programming environment. For robot programming you can ignore it plus most of the other parts of scratch except Data and Blocks, Control, Operators, and Robots.
You can combine the “panda” or the sprites in the stage area with the bot when you program in live mode but is not at all available when downloading arduino code to the bot for offline activities.
There are a TON of resources for scratch all by itself to help teach programming. The extensions provided by makeblock.cc are very very useful to extend the eas of programming of scratch to the world of real robots. If you are interested in coding in C++ you can do that too using the ardiuno IDE.

Thanks. I am planing to use these in a educational class for kids, so just wanted to make sure I was thinking correctly that the panda is really not relevant.

But I’m having issues with the board, but I’ll post those questions else ware.

Thanks
