so ive got a few additional mbot2 unit for students, and the students are on chromebooks, im on windows laptop, we’re both using the mlink ide.mblock.cc
students are getting ‘connected’ using the usb 3 cables that came with the mbot2 units… however, it doesnt upload any code to the mbot, just sits there on ‘iuploading’…
however, when i try a different usb 3 cable, not from the mbot2 kit, and connect, the program uploads…
any thoughts on how to tell what usb3 cables are the ‘correct’ ones?

This is a very strange issue. What does the cable that the mBots come with look like?
For other cables, make sure that they have the data symbol (as shown in the image), or is a USB-C to USB-C cable (where both ends look the same):
