Using Pi Shield on Raspbery Pi2

There are more header pins on the rpi2 than on the original pi. Since the pi shield supplies power I do not want to connect the two arbitrarily. Can I just plug the pi shield in at the end of the header where it would “be” if it were on the pi1 without causing damage?

It should work the same way as the RPi 1 as the first 20 pins are the same for the RPi2. Here is a link to a pin out guide to help with your questions. http://pi.gadgetoid.com/pinout I don’t have the RPi shield yet so haven’t tested it just to let you know.
