Using mBlock with Arduino Mega 2560 - no mBot extension

#1

Hello,

I have mBot Ranger 3-in-1 (SKU 90092). I installed mBlock and Arduino drivers. I connect via USB cable, so Serial COM3 appears and it is selected. I select board “Arduino Mega 2560”. I can upgrade firmware.

The problem is, that when “Arduino Mega 2560” board is selected, “Extensions” menu show only “Arduino” and “Communications”, but no “mBot” or “Makeblock” extension, so I’m unable to program robot, like using motors or LED’s or anything (“Robots” section in “Scripts” have no mBot programming blocks).

When “mBot” board is selected - I see “Makeblock” extension, but “Upload to Arduino” get “Upload failed” message.

Please help,
Thanks, Marius

Technical data:
Windows 7, 64bit.
mBlock v.3.2.2

Hi CaptAm,

For Ranger, you need choose Auriga under Board on mBlock software.
Besides, you are using mBlock v3.2.2, this version doesn’t have Auriga option, please download the mBlock v3.3.0 in this link: http://www.mblock.cc/download
The beta software is V3.3.0

Hello,

I have the same problem but with a blue Mbot-90055, in the selection menu extensions I have only Arduino, or Makeblock Communication I, unwanted 3.3.8 release yet.

Thank you for your help especially since I made this purchase to publish an article and here I am stuck.

Thank you

Christophe.

Hi SOSPC,

Yes, with the mBot, you need choose mBot (mCore) under Board first. Keep the makeblock checked under extension
