Upload starts then fails

After downloading the latest version of software and driver for the Mbot educational robot starter kit, I can not upload anything. USB connected, COM port selected. I am working on a Win & box. Remote functionality is 100%.

Have you tried going to Connect --> Upgrade Firmware and Reset Default Program?

yes
upgrade firmware fails
also reset default yield nothing
also tried after installing driver for arduino

I have a similar issue. Upload firmware results in sitting at 0% until it fails.

Windows 7 Pro
2.4Ghz version Mbot
Driver appears to load correctly.
Mbot appears to connect correctly.

Anyone help?
