I have this installed for my new mBot and it has caused multiple hard crashes of my MacBook (Yosemite 10.10.5). As in grey screen of death … hard reboot.

New mBlock is failing to upload anything on my mBot.mBlock says that the program was uploaded on the board but in reality it did nothing as the old program is still left on the board.

Hi Therafails,

Really thanks for your feedback.

Will this issue has some relationship with some anti-virus software on the MacBook, kindly check if it is possible.

Here I have added your feedback into the problem records. Thanks again and look forward to your further feedback.

Best Regards!

Hi Blecky,

Thanks for your feedback!
What is the operating system of your PC?

Here I have tested the Upload program function should be ok.
Did you upload the program by clicking on Upload to Arduino button? And before you upload new program to the Robot, you need Upgrade Firmware for it first.
Here I have attached the instructions about how to Upgrade Firmware for mBot and How to upload the program to mBot just for reference, if you know very well about it, please just ignore.Upgrade Firmware and Upload Program for mBot.zip (860.0 KB)

Look forward to your further feedback, thanks!

Best Regards!

Hi Arabella,

Here I can download the software with no security warning, please do not worry about that, there is no risk for accessing our website and download it, can you ignore this warning and download it?

Or you can recommend a large file transfer website, I will upload the software and you can download there.

Best Regards!

Hi,

I just got a Ranger but tired to execute Auriga code in mBlock 3.3.1 without response. Further, I also tried upload to Arduino but not working as well. It connected with serial port and firmware being upgraded.

Beside, Makeblock under my iPad working fine, I can control the Ranger without problem and coding is also working.

Please help!
Thanks,

Hi funpan,

The program you attached cannot be download here, please kindly send it to tec-support@makeblock.com

Or please try upload the following program:

Please make sure the power for the battery is enough, normally, we suggest use the rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Hi,

After some trial and errors, it finally works!
May I revise the procedure for building mBlock program via serial port. Please kindly correct me if I am wrong.

  1. If connecting USB cable alone without turn on the battery supply, the Ranger cannot move during interactive mode and after uploaded into the Ranger.
  2. If I reconnect the Ranger with USB, it is required to either reset Default program or Upgrade Firmware, otherwise the program can’t be executed.

Thanks,
K.K.

Hi funpan,

  1. The first comment is correct. Ranger cannot get enough power to drive the motors while connecting USB cable alone without turning on the battery supply.
  2. It isn’t, the first time you upload a program to the ranger, you need upgrade the firmware for it first. After that, you can upload the programs to the ranger directly.
