Starter kit with standard arduino

#1

dear all

I’m new to this (arduino programming etc), but i would like to buy the blue starter kit without electronics and buy an seperate arduino, shield and sensors to use on the kit.
But i would like to know if somebody already tried this with a normal arduino instead of the me orion board that is normally used in the kit, and if there is as big difference when you do this.

I hope somebody has some more information if this is possible?
sorry for my bad english

If you do so you will immediately realize that Makeblock-Sensors and Motors do not use the same cabling as standard Arduino. They use RJ11 cabling and sockets instead. Thus, if you want touse a standard Arduino, you will need to crimp your own cables to connect to the sensors and motors -or you need to replace all these elements as well, i.e. only use the mechanical concept of Makeblock.

However, it is a maker-platform, so the more you do yourself, the (imho) better!

Cheers, Stefan
