[SOLVED] PC Bluetooth connection trouble with mBot Ranger

#1

"Hello everyone,

I recently bought a second-hand mBot Ranger. It seems to work well; I can control it from my smartphone and program it on my PC via the MakeBlock application. The only downside is that I can’t connect it via Bluetooth from my PC, which is inconvenient when testing things live.

I’m using a Windows 11 PC. I should mention that the Bluetooth pairing between the PC and the mBot seems fine (it appears my PC detects it).

I tried to solve the issue with my son’s PC… same result.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me out?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards!"

Hi Franck @FLem

You really do have to buy Makeblock’s own Bluetooth Dongle (which somewhat confusingly is actually a Serial device not a Bluetooth device) to make your Ranger or any other Makeblock bot work with a Bluetooth connection:

Hi Franck @FLem

This dongle does work (& is therefore worth the money) whereas other Bluetooth connections don’t. Good luck!
