Slider Beams!

Hi,
The new Slider Beams look great, but why is there only 4 sets of holes on the long beams?
http://makeblock.com/slider-beam2424-752-blue-single-pack

It really makes them somewhat unusable unless you want to build Delta printers? Why not add more holes and make it a universally useful component of the Makeblock system? These could be really useful in a CNC build, but without any holes in the middle, the construction won’t be strong enough.

PS: it is still difficult to find these new products since I can no longer sort by “new” on all products. For true fans of Makeblock this is a really important feature and it’s a 10 minute job to add it to the website (I’m a developer, so I know)

PPS: the 24x24 beams are named Slider Beams, the 8x24 beams are named Slide Beams…

Yea, I totally agree. I have been waiting for these longer beams for so long, but this new release is quite disappointing. The new beam is so limiting. The idea behind these modular beams is that it has all these precision drilled holes, allowing many possible combination.

(New) Slide Beam2424 - 752 : 6 pairs of holes.

(Old) Beam2424-504 : 20 pairs (Much better)

Hi Victor,

The Slide Beam 2424-752 is designed with less hole duo to it is special for our mGiraffe 3D printer.

@tec_support We know and that is is exactly what we think is the problem. You just don’t understand, do you? If a beam is made to work only with a specific kit, it’s not useful for anyone other than those that want to have that printer.

Hi Jenschr,

Thanks for getting back. Yes, I understand the limitation for this design and this also had been feedback to our engineer, temporarily, there is no plan to modify this designation. May have plan to develop new beams with more holes in the future and take your advice into consideration.

Best Regards!
