Shaft connector problem (xy plotter kit)

As mentioned earlier in an e-mail.

I recently started constructing the XY-plotter kit and have a problem with the new shaft connectors. I cannot fit them on the stepper motors, even though I bought the whole package as a kit (with electronics).

A picture from the four new connectors (left) and two old ones on the right:

The old shaft connectors (from kickstarter or later…) work fine, also on the stepper motor.

I have a short (amateur!) video on youtube (private) where I first connect the old ones and then fail to slide any of the new shaft connectors on any of the motors.

The new shaft conncetors look much nicer though (are they made from another material?).

We are very sorry about that problem. You can buy four connectors for free. And if you need new parts, you can get them together, since the shipping cost is free too.

After you finish the order, please tell me the order number, and I will modify the price.

No problem!

I will make a new order around mid-June or end-June. (The XY-plotter will keep me busy for a couple of weeks, and I want to do something with the extra parts that I ordered… if I find the time.)

Hi Paul,
I’ve sometimes overlooked that there was a setscrew in the connector that made it hard to get it on, but I’m guessing you’ve tried both with and without a setscrew?

@jenschr: good suggestion, I just checked… they are all brand new and empty.
