Robot starter__will not move__loud noise

I have built the robot starter kit - tank- Bluetooth. I have downloaded the firmware update successfully via Bluetooth. A loud piercing noise then occurs. I tried the white button as recommended on the Bluetooth. This does not work. I press the black button near the power switch. This turns off the noise for a few seconds then it returns. The machine will not respond to any controls via the app. Please help!
