Any one aware what the buttons on the remote does, I am having a hard time to figure out what each button does on the
remote…
The remote worked for 5 minutes before it went dead and since then I am not able to get it work with the remote.
is there some way to debug why there is response to the remote…

The remote just sends remote codes to whatever is watching for them. in mBlock you can watch for remote buttons being pressed. The default program has been coded to watch for ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ to choose one of 3 sub programs and in each of those they watch for the number buttons to set the speed and others based on the subprogram selected. If the code uploaded to the mBot doesn’t watch for the remote codes then nothing is going to happen.
Any code that looks for button pressed must be in some sort of loop since it only watches for a brief moment and then moves on.
I had exactly the same issue. Remote worked for 5 mins and went dead! It does not seem to be a loop issue…the remote simpky died since no signals apart from the Up button are emanating from it. I checked the IR Led using my digital camera…no signals sent from remote on any other buttons. Very disappointing to be honest.
Same here exactly 5 to 10 minutes only it worked… I checked replacing it with new battery and also checked using my phone front camera…
I do not see any IR light coming from the remote for any of the buttons… but the same on my TV remote
through up a light purple light when the buttons are pressed… I think there is surely some issue with the remote…
Thanks everyone for the help… I think I need to send a mail to the mbot makers and check…
