Rechargeable or 9V block

My 6 AA- batteries doesn’t have a long lifetime with my robot.
2 questions:

  • Is it possible to use rechargeable battery’s?
  • Is it possible to use a 9V-accu/battery?

This is the 12V pack I used: http://forum.makeblock.cc/t/12v-rechargable-battery/707/3
6x rechargeable AA will have together only around 7.2V (= 6 x 1.2V) what might not be enough for the robot. I didn’t try 9V battery pack but it shuld work.
