Raspberry Pi and mBot use two ways communication?

Can Raspberry Pi 3B communicate with mBot (mCore)?
or I need different board like auriga / orion ?

yes you can with the usb
make arduino script to communicate via serial
and on the raspberry a python script with serial

Should work using Bluetooth, too. I did that with an Android app as a communication partner here:

The mBot side should be pretty much the same talking to a Raspberry Pi.
