Problems transferring programs via Bluetooth

#1

I have an error message at the end of loading the program in mbot, here is this message:

    Using Port: Makeblock
      Using Programmer: arduino
      Overriding Baud Rate: 115200

Avrdude: ser_open (): can not open “Makeblock”: The file sp閏ifi? can not be found.

Avrdude done. Thank you.

Dispatched to the card. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

I have no problem with the USB cable.

How to solve this difficulty?
Otherwise all with WIN 10: Good product.

Hi Claude41,

Was the same issue at the beginning?
Which verison mBlock you are using. You may try the uninstall the previous one and install the latest version mBlock 3.4.2 in this link.

Besides, did the upgrade firmware and reset default program work properly?

Hi Claude41,

From your topic, it looks like you upload the program for the mBot with Bluetooth connection?
Please note that you need disconnect the Bluetooth connection, then must upload the program to mBot with a USB connection.

Here is a post listing the FAQs for the mBot.
Please refer to the FAQ 1How to Upgrade firmware for mBot and FAQ3 how to upload program to mBot have a try.

Hello,
I have version 3.4.2 and I download the mbot program with the USB connection. I have no problem to download and use my programs with the USB connection and return to the mbot program with the USB connection.
It is only by downloading my program or an example program that the Bluetooth download fails at the end of transmission.
Bluetooth works well to display IR sensor values; For my programs, I am therefore limited to the USB connection.

Thank you for this quick response.

Hi claude41,

The Bluetooth connection between mBot and mBlock can only do online program bebug. Please see the explanation in this document.33. Why it fails when upload program to Makeblock robot wirelessly though 2.4G or Bluetooth.docx.zip (9.7 KB)

Thanks for this clarification, this restriction is not mentioned on the startup documents …
I am used to LEGO MINDSTORMS which allows a lot more possibility of communication.
I also like mBot, I still have to progress in programming and buy other sensors.

Hi Claude 41.

Yes, this part hasn’t mentioned in the user manual. Actually, the users who know our products know this. While for the starters, there may be confusion. Since the user manual is to guide the basic operation, it may not able to contain all the content for the robot. Anyway, thanks for your feedback and we have plan to update our learn website for mBot and will add this part under FAQ fields in the furture.
