Problem with the program

I am having a problem with our M bot. Just got it for Christmas and I’m still trying to figure it out. I have been able to write a program and load the program. I can even get the robot to run the program but everything stops as soon as I unplug the USB cord from the robot. Anybody have any idea what I’m doing wrong?

What power supply do you use for mBot? Have you put external power for it?

In addition, could you please take a picture for one of your program which works on mBot with USB connected but not work without connecting the USB cable?

The robot uses AA batteries. They came from a new pack so they should be good.

I can’t seem to upload a picture.
The program is:

M bot program
Repeat 10 times
Run forward at a speed of 255
Wait 1 second
Turn right at a speed of 255
Wait 1 second
Show face port 3 x:0 y:0 characters cj

From your description, the program is okay.
Could you please kindly change the battery have a try in case that the mBot can’t get enough power just from the battery.

According to our test and research, it is suggested to use rechargeable Li-ion battery or rechargeable nickel-metal hydride, nickel-cadmium which can be bought from amazon or local shop. Or Alkaline battery with good quality like Energizer, DURACELL.
