Thanks for that Alice and Zephod. I haven’t yet checked to see if my order shipped yet, Alice said it did so I have to believe her. I did read in our newspaper this morning that there was a fairly large typhoon that came very close to Hong Kong. The paper said it was supposed to hit Hong Kong but veered at the last moment and hit about 87 miles from them. They probably still had problems from it. The article said that shipping and travel was disrupted. Where I live we have the misfortune of dealing with hurricanes so I know how they can affect the way daily life normally is. Hope everything is OK with them at Makeblock.
Order Waiting to be picked-up
Alice if you are saying to me that you sent the orders out except the order with the Strong Robot Gripper, I didn’t order a Strong Robot Gripper. One of my items was the Advanced Robot Kit that did include a Robot Gripper, but your website shows the Strong Robot Gripper and the Robot Gripper that’s in the Advanced Kit as being different. I ordered other things too, but I see no use in going through that you know what I ordered. I did receive a tracking number and nothing has happened on the shippers website since I received it. I ended up calling them and was told that they had the shipping label since Sept. 5th. That’s twenty days ago and they still have not received the package to ship. I am becoming very frustrated. You are telling me that it’s shipped and the shipper told me that you gave them only the label without the package to ship. I’m still waiting on my order and I would appreciate any and everything that you can do to make that happen.

Alice in reply to the email you sent me FedEx says they have had a shipping label since the 09/05/2013 but no package. They are telling me the same thing that they told me a couple of weeks ago. You can call FedEx or track it on their website to see what they say and they going to tell you the same thing. You failed to tell me the shipper you used if it’s different from FedEx coming from you to America. If it’s a lost package you have had time to send another one in its place and when they locate it they can send it back to you. If it’s the way you say it’s between you and the shipper. I have nothing to do with it except be out of a lot of money. Give me a refund and let them send it back to you. That will be just fine with me too. I’m still waiting.
Just a short remark: Sealfish - as much as I understand this topic to be urgent for you personally: wouldn’t it not more appropriate to solve this is issue by private mails instead here in the forum? Just asking …

I guess the Makeblock online store goes through some typical teething troubles … my own experience (3 orders so far) were quite positive, so let’s stay optimistic, shall we?
My orders came blazingly fast (one time even less than 48-hours from Makeblock to Antwerp!). I always try to pay a bit extra for DHL when buying online (mainly because USPS and Belgian Post are losing packages by the dozens). DHL has descent tracking and they actually call you on your gsm when not home.

Has anyone got their orders shipped in the last few days? Mine has been “Awaiting Shipment” since the 30th of last month. I’m just wondering how long I should expect to wait before it starts on its way.

mine is in the same state “Awaiting Shippment” since September 26th. There is no response to various messages - starting october 26th I have to launch the conflict resolution process of paypal.
very annoying! (as I also do not receive any response to missing parts of a previously ordered kit)

An update…
I spoke with Eric on the Live Chat last night and asked him for an update. He told me that not all the parts were in stock but he would ship out what is in stock now and the rest would come later. I haven’t had any change in the status of my order yet though.
I’m guessing the same thing has happened for other people who are stuck on “Awaiting Shipment” (my housemate is in the same situation). It would be good to have more transparency from Makeblock about this - I understand they are a new company and are probably still working things out, but open communication from them is key to avoid alienating customers.
I just received a parcel ordered short time ago, so I think we can conclude, the store as working most of the time, and there are some young company glitches here and there …
All my package arrived to Argentina very fast, very little delay in only one order of five, sure for out of stock, but the packages arrive in less time than any other Chine site, so congrats Makeblock, sure with a bit of time all will normalize
Also the packaging is very good guys !! most of the packages that I ordered from other sites get damaged, with u no problem at all with electronic components, either with the aluminium parts

I ordered my kit on Sept. 25th, and it simply said “awaiting pickup” as well. I sent a message asking about it’s status but didn’t get a reply either. The good news is my kit arrived in the mail today (Oct. 11th) and I’m in Baton Rouge, LA.
Hopefully this means you guys that are still waiting for your orders will get them soon!
I just wanted to add my experience to date. I’m in New York, US.
I placed order #311 on Sep 27 and it was marked shipped as of Sep 30, which was pretty good! I was confused by the tracking number provided, however: It was accompanied by a link to usps.com (United States Postal Service), but the tracking number started with a 5 (which is not common for USPS).
After trying the tracking number on USPS, China Post, DHL, EMS and a few others it turned out to belong to FedEx. FedEx shows that it’s received the shipping info, but does not have the package yet. They also show the origin of the package as Secaucus, New Jersey (about 1 hour from me). Secaucus is near a major container port, so my assumption is that the order is coming by ship to New Jersey (north-eastern coast of the US), then the last few km of the trip will be by FedEx Ground.
By ship it could realistically take a month or more to reach me (!?). I wasn’t given an option to choose a shipment method during checkout (nor did it say what shipment method was being used). I would have gladly paid extra for DHL (or any air freight) had I been given an option.
I guess no harm done because I can wait, but my only recommendation for you guys at Makeblock would be to be more explicit about shipping methods, choices, and estimated delivery times during checkout.
I’m sure now that I said something it’ll arrive tomorrow just to make me look extra impatient.
EDIT: I swear on every server, firewall and hard drive that I possess that this is no lie: Just now I received a tracking update from FedEx indicating that my package has been picked up. I created this post at about 3 PM local time, and FedEx has the package as of 4:25 PM local time. If all goes well I should have it in my hands tomorrow.
I feel slightly embarrassed, but a bit gratified to know that the universe is, at times, predictable.
The robot parts have arrived! It’s been less than 24 hours since my last post, and I’m very excited to get home and build something (I’m at work now). Thanks to everyone at Makeblock; All of the parts were well packaged, and the order looks to be complete. The beams and other Al parts are very well machined and look better in person than on the website!
In all, it looks to have been well worth the wait!
