Food for thought!:

Regular contributors to this Forum such as @Best_codes and @CommandeR have no connection to Makeblock. They try to respond to questions when they can, because they want to help by using their own experiences and expertise gained from earlier contributors and by drawing on their own Makeblock programming / assembly experiences.

N.B. It would be polite to treat them with the respect they deserve for any such help given herein - some do, but several do not reply with any form of thanks or further constructive dialogue.

It helps us too if new contributors start by using the Forum’s Search panel to look for (and read) Topics that have been addressed earlier in the last year-or-so before firing off a simple question that may have already been answered.

@CommandeR thanks for mentioning me! :grinning:
I didn’t see this right away since I’ve been on a trip, and now I’m sick.

There are a few things I would like to add.

  • This forum is mostly focused on issues with makeblock products. I see a lot of posts like ‘Write me a code to do XYZ’. The point of makeblock is to learn to write code, not have other people write it for you. Debugging code is OK, but asking people to write you code defeats the purpose of makeblock.

  • This is supposed to be a formal space. I’ve seen posts that don’t seem to have much effort in them, like “help mbot broke thx”. Make sure that your posts are detailed and provide all the troubleshooting information other forum users might need. Note: Profanity, hate, or frustration are not necessary. Swearing or talking about how mad you are that something is not working isn’t going to help anybody troubleshoot.

  • Give your posts meaningful titles. I have to rename posts all the time, and it’s very bothersome. Titles like ‘Help’ or ‘mBot not working’ are not useful. Imagine a forum where all the posts are just named ‘Help!’. You have an issue with your mBot’s battery; you search for posts about the topic, but all you see is ‘Help!’. Is that very helpful?

Also remember:

  • You can contact mBlock officially here: support@makeblock.com
  • Forum posts are not chat rooms. Directly message users if you want to chat with them.

Let’s keep this forum running smoothly!
