I’m new to the forum. I am running a Mac 10.7.5. I’m trying to play around with the Makeblock Inventor kit - the Orion board. I downloaded mBlock (the panda), and I’ve had Arduino 1.0.5 loaded. I’ve had limited success. mBlock works ok. It will open a newer version of Arduino 1.6 something that I believe came in the mBlock package. I can’t get it to upload to the Orion board. I can’t get Arduino 1.0.5 to load either. It doesn’t have the Orion board as a choice under boards. I’ve loaded everything I could find… maybe that was the problem. Any suggestions?
I was able to load script from mBlock (not Arduino IDE) successfully, but I want it all to work.
Any help appreciated.

Did you update the fireware as follow?
- open mBlock
- choose Me Orion from Boards
- connect serial port from Connect
- upgrade firmware
I can’t speak to the Mac versions, but I had success with the Aurduino IDE after I upgraded to the latest version (1.6.7) from their website directly (https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software). Took me a couple tries to get the MakeBlock libraries in the right location for that to work, but once I did it worked great.
When the Orion option isn’t available, you can select “Arduino/Genuino Uno” as the board; they appear to be compatible.

Just saying- this is a pretty big necropost. If someone still needs help, they’ll create a new topic or bump up this one.
