Multiple mBots with multiple Bluetooth Controllers - Will it Work?

#1

hi, we have 5 new mbot neo robots for the classroom , as well i bought my own with a bluetooth controller. got the basic code to do the ‘remote control’ program with it.

however, when we get 5 new mbot bluetooth remote controllers, how do they ‘pair up’ for example, how does each bluetooth controller know ‘which’ student mbot it goes with?
ifthat makes sense?
thx

@magicmarc not sure. @CommandeR any insight on this?

I can ask makeblock support for you, if that would be helpful.

Hi @Best_codes & @magicmarc

Not sure, but I think not! The usually prescribed method for multiple bots in a classroom was by pairing individual 2.4G wireless serial modules on each bot with individual 2.4G wireless dongles.

i thought that was forthe mbot v1, the serial i/r remotes, and they has a little board that went wit hthem for pairing… but the bluetooth remote and the mbot 2… hmmm

The mBot supports Bluetooth or IR connection for the controller, and a Bluetooth or Serial connection for uploading code.

The mBot Neo supports Bluetooth control, and Bluetooth or Serial connections for uploading code. You can also use an IR remote to work with mBot Neo (you have to purchase the mBuild IR Transceiver), but the best way to have multiple robots work together is with the Bluetooth.

thanks, this semester ill be using a group of mixed robots, thus i need to learn how to do this with both, but mostly focused on the neo (mbot2) as i dotn see any way to pair them… and i want to have students race each other with mbot neos…
