Hi folks
Installed mlaser 2.4, runs the laserbot test well, however the preview section of the software remains always blank, any idea on how to fix this?
Same issue with V2.3
cheers
Mlaser issue
Well, you’re not the only one with this problem. I have exactly the same issue here.
The funny thing is, I can laser-engrave the image with the LaserBot, it is only invisible on the preview screen (just as invisible as the rulers are
I am working with Windows Vista, maybe that is too old for this world ?
Hi agmed & louis,
Do you mean the Preview Engraving Area option is blank on your mLaser software?
Could you please send a picture for it?
The windows vista is truly old, anyway, you may updated the Graphical network card driver to the latest one have a try. Once still the same thing.you may upgrade the operating system of the PC.
@agmed, and what is the operating system of your PC?
Hi,
when I open mLaser it opens with
notice the very light-gray zoom-in-out at the right-bottom corner
opening a file with “open” -> mLaser -> Materials -> SVG files -> mLaser -> Bugatti.svg
now the cursor changes into a four-arrowed-updownleftright placement cursor
When I double-left-click I get the position-edit window, but the OK-button does nothing
I can click all the items in the right column
Preview Engraving area let the laserhead move to indicate the engraving area
clicking the ControlPanel and then Home moves the laserhead to the homing position
The X+ X- Y+ Y- let the laserhead moving a bit
when I press start the Bugatti is engraved by the laser as I want to have it.
But all the time the mainscreen remains pure white, no ruler, no picture of the Bugatti.
The same happens when engraving a Text or a QR Code, the laser works fine, but no view on the screen
But I also noticed a funny thing :
when I click the minimize/maximize button on the topright it changes into
notice the very light-gray zoom-in-out at the right-bottom corner in the white part
clicking multiple times on the minimize/maximize button keeps the black screen, the white one is gone
So, lasering cut/engrave, all hardware works fine, results as expected, but the software preview does not work.
The computer I use has MicroSoft Vista Home Premium 2007 with Service Pack 2
Many people use older computers as a permanent interface assigned to a single task
That is what I do with this computer, only controlling the LaserBot and a CNC-milling machine
I hope this makes it a bit more understandable, the problem I mean.
Hi louis,
Thanks for explaining the issue in details.
It looks like this has relationship with the Graphical card on PC. You may try update the Graphical card driver to latest one.
Hi support,
Well, I have updated the card driver, but as I expected, no positive result.
But then I had a luminous idea, I copied the whole mLaser software folder (145 Mbyte) onto a USB-memory stick, perhaps it runs stand-alone as well. And yes, it does. So now I have tried to startup the mLaser software from memorystick on all sorts of windows computers ( from neighbours, colleagues, friends, family, etc.). And guess what, It starts working with screenpreview at Windows 7 2009 service pack 1, and of course all the later Windows versions. On older windows versions like XP or Vista it gives the problems with the screenpreview as mentioned, so these windows versions are not supported as it should be. Probably something to do with the basic Qtxxxx.dll stuff …
But that is for the developers to find out, they should try the mLaser software on a XP or Vista.to check why its not working properly there.
