My son and I have been playing around with an Arduino Uno bot that uses a breadboard as the interface the various components we add such as LEDs, IR sensors, LCD, buttons, etc. I find he really likes constructing and playing with the bot, including breadboard wiring, but not so much the understanding of the components or the C++ programming. I think he’d have more fun with the Ultimate Robot Kit where he can focus on construction and innovation. Also, he already knows Scratch from school, it doesn’t seem put off by it like C++.
I want to still be able to interface with a lot of the components we have for his current bot. It looks like Me RJ25 Adapter is the answer to that, but I have a few questions:
- If the component requires resistors, capacitors, or interacting with other components in a chain, I assume this means you need to use a breadboard. Can anyone point me to some examples of doing this? I’d be interested in knowing how everything is kept small and neat. I’m not even sure what you would affix the breadboard to.
- Has anyone tried creating a more general purpose breadboard interface to the ME Orion? Maybe a few Me RJ25 Adapters all hooked up to the same breadboard, giving you a general purpose breadboard playground that can access a few of the Arduino pins?
Thanks
