Me Encoder Motor driver

Can someone confirm the Me Encoder Motor Driver can be used with a REGULAR Arduino Uno (NOT an Orion version) ?
The motor driver claims it supports I2C, but I can’t get any answer from it from my Arduino, nor does it listen to commands.
I use the latest version of the Makeblock library (v3.26) and I have experience with I2C.
