mBot won't connect, battery pack EXTREMELY hot

#1

Our mBot was working fine on xmas morning (first day we used it), then later in the afternoon it stopped working. I can’t connect to the mBlock software via USB to do a factory reset and when the battery pack is plugged in the mBot won’t turn on and the battery pack gets to hot you can’t even hold it. Any ideas? Please help!

For sure something is shorted out for the battery pack to get hot like that.
Do you have the 2.4g or Bluetooth chip plugged in?
Does your computer still recognize the mBot when it is plugged in?

It is Bluetooth, no the computer is not recognizing it

in my case this helped (Mac): update to the latest version of mblock (v3.2) from http://mblock.cc update the firmware of the mbot (from the menu of the mblock program) and reconnect

@jreile080506 Try the following steps:
install makeblock usb driver, see the post at http://forum.makeblock.cc/t/after-plugging-the-usb-cable-my-computer-cant-find-the-serial-port/1572
unplug battery pack, then connect mBot with computer via usb, turn on mBot.
open mBlock, choose Connect>Serial Port and select the port if your computer runs windows platform.

there is Reset Default Program option under Connect menu, click it to do a factory reset.

If it still doesn’t work, please send email to support@makeblock.cc and include detailed information. So we can figure it out.
