mBot + mBlock 5 on Chromebook upload not working

Please help. Just bought 14 mBots. 1 per student for coding in this new Covid-19 environment. Each student has a chromebook at their disposal. Was hoping it was a perfect solution. Here is my problem: Finished the build today and connected the mbot to Chromebook via usb. Installed the mlink extension and was able to connect to the mbot through the ide.mblock.com interface. Read Sardog’s comment about using mBots with Chromebooks. Used latest mlink on my hp chromebook and was able to connect to mbot. Could upgrade firmware, upload code. Worked fine.

Tried connecting student chromebooks (mostly lenovo brand) to several mbots. Could initially connect to USB but could not upgrade firmware or upload code. Tried several chromebooks and mbots.

I have used these mbots in the past with students using laptops and full size PCs. Cannot reset or otherwise change USB ports on chromebook. I can use other USB devices such as mice and keyboards on these chromebooks.

Is there a bug in the USB/driver code in mlink?

if you use website version in your chrombook,then you need to enter mlink to use website mblock.you can use this method try again.
