mBot Rover wheel motors cause constant reboot

Hi, I built my mBot Rover with my kids and uploaded the demo program to it via mBlock. using it with the bluetooth controller is great! However, it constantly crashes and reboots. Like ever 1-2 minutes. It’s actually unusable. I’ve determined the wheel stepper motors probably have something to do with it, when I unplug them from the board, the Rover happily stays on without issue. Do I have defective motors or a main board? Thanks in advance

@ro90dm The battery may be too weak to power the motors constantly at full power. You can try:

  • Running the motors at a lower speed
  • Making sure that the battery is fully charged
  • Loosening the tread on the mBot 2 Rover’s wheels, if possible
