My son’s Mbot was working fine for a few hours, but now whichever motor is connected to the M2 connector will only go in reverse. This happens with the remote and within all of the different apps. Hoping for a solution. Thanks!
Mbot only sending reverse signal from one connector
More info needed:
- OS / OS version
- Version of mBlock
Things to Try
- Did you upload a program to the mBot? If so, try restoring the firmware or default program to see if that fixes the situation.
- If you uploaded a custom program, can you post a screenshot of the program?
Apps (Makeblock & Blockly) were running on IOS over iPads. I hadn’t downloaded MBlock, but just did. Version 5.0.1 for Windows 7.
We didn’t upload any programs, custom or otherwise. I’ve updated the firmware to the latest available through MBlock (6.01.107), but that hasn’t resolved the issue. Have also tried holding / pressing the reset button on the unit.
Thanks!
Hm, interesting. If you have a multimeter you could check to see if the voltage is being properly reversed to try to eliminate the hardware side of it. Could you post a screenshot of the code you are using?
@tech_support, this is a weird one…
Sorry for the issue caused. Maybe the issue lies in the main board. Would you send me an video to stephanie.wu@makeblock.com via https://transfer.pcloud.com/, we’ll have double confirm.
Also please tell me the purchase information: where and when. The invoice will be much appreciated.
I’m not sure how to access the code that is being used. Is that something that can be done with MBlock? We’re just running the code that was pre-programmed on the unit, but if I can figure out how to find it, I’d be happy to post it. Thanks!
Sorry I didn’t receive the video. Would you please confirm that or resend it?
Also when and where did you purchase the mBot?
It is no need to access the codes that is running. Before we program for it, it should run default program/codes, but sometimes it may lose the default program. Then as the first step, we always suggest users can do reset default program with mBlock software, instead of update firmware. You mentioned you have done update firmware, please try again to do reset default program (the picture come from latest mblock 5 software):
After that, you may test again. By the way, the battery is very important. Please kindly try totally new batteries to test it again.
I’ve re-sent the video. I think there was something wrong with the previous file. I’ll try your other suggestions later tonight and respond with results. Thanks!
I tried brand new batteries, but that did not help.
The firmware update screen on my version of MBlock does not look like your screenshot. I’m running 5.0.1. I tried to update MBlock, but it says it’s up to date. A screenshot of my firmware update screen is below. It gives me two options:
06.01.107 is the firmware I previously updated to.
06.01.009 is preceeded by Chinese (?) characters. I reverted to this version, but it did not fix the problem.
The invoice for the Mbot was uploaded when I first tried to upload the video. It was purchased in January through Amazon. It was a gift that wasn’t opened until March. As I said before, it worked fine for about an hour.
Any more ideas?
Thanks!
Sorry, I haven’t receives any video or invoice. Will you kindly give me your order ID so I can tell the colleague in charge of Amazon who can send you the replacement. Also send me your phone number to my email.
I’ve resent the invoice and video to your email through pcloud.com for the third time. I’ve also emailed you the invoice, with invoice number, separately. I’m not comfortable giving you my phone number; email should be sufficient.
I received the email with invoice.
Sorry, as we need to send you the replacement of mCore, the receiver’s phone number is necessary, otherwise we can’t send out the mCore to you. Thank you for your understanding.
