Mbot just goins in circles - wont go forward or backward

#1

I tested with the basic program to test the robot going forward using mblock. The robot was supposed to go forward but instead it goes in circles. One wheel is going forward and one backward. I double checked the basic program was correct.

Followed this step:
Step 3, get four AA batteries to power the mBot and write script blocks below. Then you will see the mBot moves forward with a speed of 100.

But the robot only goes in circles - left wheel goes forward. Right goes backwards. Robot doesn’t move at all at first just makes a noise. Once you nudge it a little the circles begin. Anyone know what’s going on and how to fix the issue?

@vapor11, could you please feedback your problem to support@makeblock, our guys would help to check, thanks!

I had the same thing work the starter kit. In my case the white and black wired to the motor connectors were backwards

Were you able to fix it or did you need another motor?

I have 6 broken motors. Still waiting for them to come. See one of the pinned posts where the makeblock team declared an informal recall on the motors. I also posted on tb as t thread how to test current on your motors so you have some evidence.

Here’s the link to the thread. http://forum.makeblock.cc/t/all-about-motors-app-and-etc-from-makeblock-team/903/24

It’s pretty obvious to me that this will just be a question of miswiring the motors. I don’t have the MBot kit, but on all the other kits, you would just unscew the wires from the little yellowish plug that goes into the Orion board (on the motor that is spinning in the wrong direction), and reverse the wires. Very simple fix.

My motors are similar… But I just adopted using negative speeds for one to correct…
