mBot connection using USB - Help!

#1

I bought an mBot for my son’s birthday and we are having some trouble getting the programs downloaded onto the robot. We can write a program in makeblock, connect the mBot (with the USB cord because my computer doesn’t have bluetooth) and the bot will execute the program just fine - as long as it is connected with the cord. The problem is that I cannot figure out how to download the program onto the mBot so that we can disconnect the cord. I can figure out how to show arduino mode, but not how to make the makeblock convert the program into arduino. I have watched some videos that show choosing the mBot option from the extensions menu. However, I don’t have mBot as an option under that menu. I’m wondering if this is the problem. Any help would be appreciated - it isn’t much fun to have to have the bot connected to the computer all the time.

@Sarah_Hill, after you callout the Arduino model, you can click “Upload to Arduino”, when finished, you can get the program uploaded.

@Sarah_Hill,

@John1 did an excellent write up on the mBot, Cheat Sheet, that you might find helpful.
