Sorry, I think there are more details needed to fully answer your question:

  1. Do you have fully charged batteries in the mBot?
  2. Do you want to only use it via cable or only use it via Bluetooth?

via cable yes fully charged batteries

If you want to use it on Bluetooth, don’t hook the cable up. Just turn on the mBot, and hook up via Bluetooth.
If you intend on using it hooked up to your PC, you can take the batteries and Bluetooth module out and hook up that way.

You may need to get the most current driver for El Capitan. I just installed it today and it seems to work. The link is here.

Hi All,

I’ve spent about an hour trying to get OS X El Capitan on my iMac to connect with the mBot via Bluetooth (finally got my Bluetooth module in). It connects briefly, but then immediately disconnects. I plugged in an external Bluetooth 4.0 dongle but no joy there either.

I am not sure at this point if it’s another El Capitan issue (although I suspect it may be). I’m pretty sure that the Makeblock team doesn’t work with Macs a lot (I’m open to being corrected on this point), so it may be some unhappy combination of factors.

@tec_support, can you comment on this?
