mBlock + 2.4G Serial on Mac

#1

mBlock crashes consistently when trying to run any active program from our Macs.

This is not limited to particular sensors or functions, but seems to be related to the speed or ammount of data passed over the serial channel

.

This is what I’ve used as my test program.

If I reduce DELAY to zero statement, mBlock will crash almost instantly.

If I leave the wait at 1 second, my count will sometimes reach into the 50s or 60s before a crash.

I’ve set the DELAY at 10 seconds and seen the crash in under 10 loops, but also had it run for a few minutes.

I’ve tested this behavior across several of our mac laptops, all running 10.9 and from a similar era.

One of those machines also has Win7 under VMWare. The Win7 version of mBlock does not experience any of these crashes.

Has anyone seen similar behavior using the 2.4G serial under Mac OS?

Waker, are you a Makeblock employee?

I’m using version 2.20, which I downloaded all the components from the website when I tested this on Friday 8/28.

Ah. Looking now I see that although the download page still lists 2.20 as the current version, the file name has changed to 2.21

I’ll recheck the sample code this evening.

Is there a way to keep up with mBlock releases?

OK, I’ve tested it a few times and serial now seems to be stable.

Using the same test program as above:
