About this project
Background
Robot arm has a wide range of applications in industry, which can assemble Iron Man, cars, etc., but it seems very far away from our lives. . However, the current desktop is mainly steering structure. Precision above 10mm cannot meet in the exploration of robot arm applications, only as a toy.
Magician-1X
We try to manufacture a high-precision, easy to control, low-cost robot arm to meet the needs, and then M-1X was born, and now we find that MX can have more skills and constantly surprise us, like a magician on the desktop.
What Is Magician-X?
Magician-X is a desktop robot arm of high precision, multi-controlled, and open-source mental version. It can be placed on the desktop to interact with you and help you write or draw, and you can develop more applications such as sorting table, pour water, send information. He is a desktop magician, made by cutting and CNC finished aluminum metal frame 6061.
His brain is ARDUINO panel, the heart is a stepper motor, and have functions of eyes and ears. He currently supports mouse, mobile app, EEG, voice (now Chinese only), somatosensory, gesture control. Visual identity module is also added to sort items.
What can you do with M-1X
It is a magical magician,you can try to do whatever you want to do.
We realize the writing and drawing, accurate handling, Maze, lighting a match by M-1X. Open source software supports robot enthusiasts to develop more applications.
Anything else Magician-X can do?
using a mobile phone to control it to turn off the lights? fetch an apple in a folder by EEG control?

How do I use M-1X?
M-1X provides a total of 7 controlling methods, including mouse, mobile APP, vision, EEG, voice, leap motion and gestures.
Arduino Library
We have included diversified written motion functions for user to make their own M-1X,such as forward and inverse solution,point to point, line, jump Path Planning, all is open source,and you can make it better. These code have similar principle with industrial robot developing and is very useful for one who want to know how industrial robot work.
In our code, we provides the Limit and working range protection, various joint and coordinate command,combine them and you are the magician.
Electronic Parts:
Our initial thought is to design a shield of Arduino(Mega2560) for connecting mega2560 and 3 stepper driver boards and also to contain a current amplifying module to drive the vacuum pump and the solenoid valve. Meanwhile, it can manage driving 2 servos with 3 steppers. Based on that, we modified the design to accommodate more users, thus another shield of Arduino was born to satisfy all of the above functions. This eliminates the constitute of stepper driver boards and arouses us to reconsider the measures for overcurrent protection and heat dissipa tion. Our core competency is to employ fewer wires with a better outlook ensured.
