MacBook OS X El Capitan

#1

Dear Community,
I need your help. I bought mBOT 2.4G version. I assembled it and it’s ok. But the problem is with firmware uploading… it’s not active (grey). Moreover I tried to install Arduino driver and it doesn’t work. Who can tell me how to do?
Thanks
Carmen

@CarmenDell, can you choose the correct serial port on mBlock software? Normally, grey means the driver havent been installed successfully. Whats your PC, the driver installation is different for windows and Mac system? You can contact our support by: Support@makeblock.cc

@CarmenDell, this is a known issue. You will need to reference this thread to get the current signed version of the driver (see the link to the sengotta blog). Apparently WinChipAhead, the chip manufacturer recompiled their driver and signed it so that it will work correctly with OS X El Capitan. I’ve had it installed for a couple of months and it works fine for me. You may need to uninstall any existing USB serial drivers because they will potentially conflict with the WinChipAhead driver. you can find instructions for doing this here.

@Pioneer, I would respectfully request that Makeblock needs to get the current OS X driver and make it available as well as the troubleshooting instructions I linked to above. Most likely we also need to have a sticky note or a section on the wiki that goes into OS X installation as well. I’m seeing this particular question several times a week, so I’m pretty sure it’s, er, popular?
