Line following

Our Mbot follows the figure 8 line provided quite beautifully. How can we make our own track?

Any line which doesn’t reflect infra red light well can be used.

Have you tried black Sharpie on poster board?

I used a 1 inch wide non-reflective tape for the navigation track of a maze I built (link). The tape needs to be wide enough so that the line follower sensor can fit comfortably over the tape.

I tried a black paper strip on white paper. Mbot did not recognize it. Maybe it reflected too much with glare.

We love black electrical tape.
