It doesn't work

#1

Hello,

I bought your starter
robot. The seller told me it would be very simple to use with my son but
since I bought it I only have problems. I’m a teacher I’d like to buy
10 pieces of this robot but with all the problems I met I don’t think
I’ll take this risk.

Since I built the robot I load on it a
simple program and after it became impossible to change it. Any other
program I load on it doesn’t work, it only works with he simple program
with a remote (for my son it’s not a robot because for him a simple toy
with a remote can do this).

Now the problem has changed, I
can’t load any program in my robot even the simple program. When I sent
the program via the arduino it answers me in red:

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000
0x62 != 0x0c
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch

I upgraded the firmware, I installed the latest versions of mbot and
arduino, i verified the robot is connected on the apropriate port… but
nothing, nothing, nothing.

Do you have any solution?

Hi,

Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. I don’t own the Starter robot, but I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t use the mBot settings. From the spec on the website, it uses the Orion board. Have you tried changing the board to MeOrion? Also, this can be caused if there is an issue with the COM port. I’ll ask the usual troubleshooting questions:

  1. What OS are you using?
  2. What version of mBlock are you using?
  3. Have you installed the correct serial driver?

I haven’t worked with the Orion board (yet, it’s on my list) so I can’t offer much help there right now.

Also, it’s a good idea to copy @tec_support on these emails so that they will get them in their inbox. It’s usually faster than waiting for the support staff to troll the forums.

Regards,

Chuck
