IR Remote not working

#1

I am running a Macbook Pro with El Capitan. I have downloaded the Arduino drivers and upgraded the firmware on the robot multiple times. I can cause the motors to spin forward with the up arrow key (after very long delay), but as soon as I attempt to use a code that involves the IR Remote (see attached) I get no response. That is all that there is to my code so I don’t know if I am missing anything. I have programmed for robots with arduino and similar codes work fine so I don’t know what I am missing. I have a new battery in the remote and a flicker from the IR LED and I see a blue light turn on on the IR receiver when the remote is pointed at it, but no actual control. When I upload the default program the robot runs non stop and the IR still has no effect.

Hi Shawn,

The code works for me. Did you compile and upload the code via Arduino mode? You can run it from within mBlock if you are connected via the USB cable too, but there is a slight delay the first time I ran it.

Chuck

I did. When I am in factory default the bot won’t react to the IR either. It just keeps driving.

Hi Shawn,

I think you may not reset default program for the mBot in correct way, maybe you have chosen the wrong serial port or Board.

May I know your email address? then I will send you some instructions with clear steps.
Besides, could you take a video to show this issue and send it to tec-support@makeblock.com
