how to connect and start up 3v engine

Hello ,
I am a beginner in this field,
I bought a kit that contains an engine
please i tried to connect a 3v motor with a micro bit card, activating it directly in the program always “write in pin 0 -> 1” and do not work, if i connect it directly in the spindle 3v and GND, of course, works perfectly. What do you think is the problem? and if someone tried to do something similar help me, and thank you well in advance.
