Gas popping when cutting acrylic

#1

Hi again, sorry new to this forum and so many questions.

When cutting acrylic sheets, i get some gas popping which I assume is due to the build up of fumes under the cutting area. 2 questions:

1, Is this dangerous, and should I be concerned?
2, I have seen some horror stories on Glowforge of explosions, has anyone know anything like this to happen with Laserbox?

I should add I did not order the filtration system but do have an inline fan extracting the air via the port at the back. If I increase the power of this fan will this reduce the popping?

Thanks

our laserbox machine had 8 safety warnings,it won’t occur any explosions, you can use it safety.

The gas you said is come from the material while cutting or engraving on it,our air purifier can absorb large particle dust and part of gas,but cannot absorb the smell of the gas.As you are working on acrylic, and for this kind of material it has a terrible smell.

Meanwhile, you increase the power of the fan can speed up the smell diffusion to make your room smell good faster.

Aside, laserbox machine has laser to burn on the material, and the gas is produced by the material,as you can cut and engrave,so don’t worry it will explode,it’s safe for you.
