Hello, I am new to laser engraving. I purchased the xtool d1 works awesome. I started engraving leather and am having issues with the charring. I know it part of the process but I can’t see to touch it or seal it without it smearing onto the leather and permanently staining it. Only luck I’ve had is to apply transparent tape as soon as I’m done lasering and remove the charring as well as the finished coat then I have to reapply finishing. Youtube videos show people handling the charring and not staining happens to the leather? Is it possibly my leather is the problem? I purchased Dyed Veg Tan. Thanks for the help in advance!
