Does downloading new program to Mbot destroy the original programming?

I would like to know if downloading a new program to mBot destroys the original delivered programming(obstacle avoidance, following a line, etc) controlled by the remote. If it does destroy it
is there any way to save it or retrieve from somewhere?

Every time you download a program to mBot you will overwrite the current program. In mBlocks under the “Connect” tab, you can select “Reset Default Program”, this will restore the pre-programmed functionality.
