Controlling steppermotor with Megapi through serial

#1

Hello,
I have recently bought a MegaPi and a Stepper Motor from your website. I want to control it via Serial from my computer (using OpenFrameworks). I have managed to send serial to the Megapi but unfortunately the delay is very long (although I am sending a single byte, the update is done almost as low as once a second), making it impossible to control the stepper smoothly. The final goal is to have the stepper controlled by a joystick that would move accordingly (my code is based on this arduino example. The result I am looking for, in terms of smoothness and reaction, is quite similar to the robotic arm you did . Any input on the workflow I should adopt?

Hi @carolinebuttet,

The Makeblock team is on a national holiday so you might not hear back from them immediately. Also, copy @tec_support so that it gets into their queue.

Are you connected via the USB cable or are you using a radio technology (WiFi/Bluetooth)? Additional information that is good to provide is the operating system you are using.

Regards,

Chuck
