Connect Me Orion to CyberPi

#1

Hi,

My son has recently got a CyberPi with Pocketshield as present. He is very enthusiastic about it and looking into connecting new sensors. Now we do still have a makeblock electronic inventor set with Me Orion board. I was wondering if it is possible to connect this to the CyberPi/ Pocketshield so that the sensors/ actuators of the electronic inventor set can be used and programmed via the CyberPi?

Hi NOW,

The answer is yes. However, care must be taken not to damage the material. Personally, I use the SHIELD directly to connect 2 sensors S1 and S2 and 2 Motors or I use the Me Rj25 adapter to control 4 sensors and 2 motors.

For sensors, it’s almost all Arduino sensors (eg LED Strip WS2812B, Hall Sensor, Capacitive Touch Button, Servo Motor, LED, etc.). You just need 3 connectors +, -, DATA. If you would like to make your connectors as in the Inventor KIT, here it is:

Otherwise, you have to communicate in different ways:

IR: With one sensor on each side
Wired: Be careful, aware… I think you just have to pass the DATA. I’m not into electronics so be careful.

There you go, you’ll need a little more help, but it’s a start.
